Program Overview

Our Energy Management and the ISO 50001 Standard program is intended for participants who want to understand how to establish an energy management culture within their organization. The course covers the key elements necessary to ensure success and establish links to the ISO 50001 standard.

ISO 50001 is an internationally recognized standard that helps provide organizations with a structured framework to manage energy. The standard integrates energy efficiency into management practices to increase awareness about energy use, reinforce good energy management behaviours, and encourage energy conservation practices. ISO 50001 has become more and more utilized over the years because the implementation of its principles has been associated with reduced energy costs and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

This one-day training program is designed to be interactive and invites participants to start thinking about the role they can play in initiating, strengthening, and disseminating a culture of energy management within their organizations. Although the training follows the framework of the ISO 50001 standard to inform what constitutes a process of continuous energy performance improvement, it is not necessary to consider implementing the standard or becoming certified to benefit from the lessons and exercises from this program.
